Doing a straight DVD copy, even if the main title compression is around 90%, the quality of the result is horrible. DVDFab uses almost no CPU whilst doing the re-encryption, so would work fast on slow machines. However, there seems to be no option to make it produce better quailty on more powerful machines.
Handbrake will give you MUCH better results (same quality as original) with a much smaller file (1.2GB vs 4GB), but takes longer.
Best:
DVDFab can read disks which handbrake cant.
Uses almost no CPU (less than 5% on my quad core).
profiles for most devices such as PS4 and various phones.
Worst:
Horrible video quality when copying DVDs (Vobs).
Does not utilise modern multicore CPUs or memory. Handbrake can use 99% of 4 cores to give outstanding quality.
When ripping to mp4/avi, there is no option to include multiple audio tracks, or multiple subtitles. Why? many players (including windows media player and VLC) can handle this.
